Aromatherapy in Southwest Seoul: Choosing Your Scent
— Magok, Gayang, Deungchon, Hwagok, Banghwa and Balsan
When people book aromatherapy in southwest Seoul, the questions are rarely about the programme name or the length. They are about the scent: what is available, how strong it will be, and whether anyone will notice it afterwards. This guide answers those questions in order. For the course structure and how to choose between 70 and 100 minutes, see our oil therapy guide; for how the technique differs, see the Swedish therapy guide.
Aromatherapy starts with the scent
At Fiorael, aromatherapy runs under the name Fiore Relax Body Therapy. Warm oil is used generously and the hands move in a continuous, unhurried flow across the body, without deep pressure. What makes it aromatherapy is the scent you choose on the day, which sets the atmosphere of the room alongside the treatment itself.
So rather than booking a time and nothing else, a single line about the kind of scent you like makes the preparation much easier. "Nothing heavy, please" is enough. If you would rather not decide in advance, you can smell the options in the room and choose then.
Choosing a scent costs nothing extra. The course and its length stay the same whichever you pick.
Four directions to choose from
There is no need to learn individual oil names. Tell us which of the four directions below appeals to you, and we will blend within it to suit the day.
| Direction | Character | Often chosen when |
|---|---|---|
| Calm | Soft and settling, lavender-leaning | Late-night bookings, quiet evenings |
| Fresh | Light and clear, citrus-leaning | Daytime bookings with plans afterwards |
| Warm | Rounder and heavier, woody and balsamic | Cold months, longer courses |
| Almost none | Base oil with scent kept to a minimum | Sensitivity to scent, or wearing your own perfume |
Within each direction the oils on hand change a little from visit to visit. If you liked last time's blend, just say "the same as last time" when you book and we will check the note and match it.
How strong the scent will be
Guests are split almost evenly between those who find scent overwhelming and those who want to feel it clearly. We work with three settings.
- Barely there — base oil with only a trace of scent
- Gentle — the usual default, noticeable inside the room and no further
- Clear — for guests who come for the scent itself; it suits the longer course
You can change your mind once the session has started. Just say "a little lighter, please" and we will adjust straight away. If you prefer to rest without talking, tell us at the start and the session continues in silence.
💡 Tip. If you have a scent allergy or any concern about nut-based oils, please tell us when you book — we will prepare a different base oil. If you are pregnant, share whatever your doctor has advised and we will set the scent and the pressure accordingly.
How long the scent lasts — if you have plans after
This is the most common worry for guests heading somewhere else afterwards. In practice, if you shower before you leave, very little remains — only a faint trace on clothes and hair.
- If you shower — the scent settles to something only you will notice
- If you don't — it carries for two or three hours, which suits going straight home
- If you plan to wear perfume — choose "almost none", or give the perfume a rest that day
The shower room and powder room are stocked with a hairdryer, cleansing pads and dental kits, so there is very little to bring. If you have plans afterwards, add 20 to 30 minutes for showering and getting ready on top of the treatment time when you book.
Season and time of day
The same scent reads quite differently depending on when you come. Here is what guests tend to pick.
| When | Usual choice |
|---|---|
| Daytime, weekend afternoons | Fresh — easy to carry into the rest of the day |
| After work | Calm — chosen by guests closing out the day |
| After 11pm | Calm, kept light, for going straight home |
| Cold months | Warm — pairs well with the 100-minute course |
| Summer | Fresh, or "almost none" |
What a first visit looks like
There are two courses, 70 and 100 minutes, with the same flow and different lengths. Most first-time guests start with 70 minutes. Current prices are given when you book.
Getting here from around Gangseo-gu
Fiorael is at 11 Magokjungang 2-ro, 3rd floor, Gangseo-gu — two minutes on foot from Exit 5 of Magok Station (Line 5) and five minutes from Exit 3 of Magoknaru Station (Line 9). Parking in the building is free. We are open daily from 10:00 to 02:00, with the last booking at 1am.
Magok-dong, Seoul
Guests looking for aromatherapy in Magok-dong usually walk over from within the Magok district. It is an office area, so weekday evenings fill up first — book a few days ahead if you want a particular slot.
Balsan-dong, Seoul
Aromatherapy in Balsan-dong is one stop on Line 5 from Balsan Station. If you are near Magok Station (Balsan) in Gangseo-gu, travel time is barely a factor.
Gayang-dong, Seoul
For aromatherapy in Gayang-dong, take Line 9 two stops from Gayang Station to Magoknaru, no transfer needed. Weekend afternoons with a fresh scent are a popular combination.
Deungchon-dong, Seoul
Aromatherapy in Deungchon-dong is four stops on Line 9 from Deungchon Station. If you choose the 100-minute course, allow extra time for the shower before you head back.
Hwagok-dong, Seoul
Aromatherapy in Hwagok-dong is three stops on Line 5 from Hwagok Station, with no transfer. Because we stay open late, evening slots are usually easy to arrange.
Banghwa-dong, Seoul
For aromatherapy in Banghwa-dong, Line 5 runs from Banghwa and Gaehwasan and Line 9 from Sinbanghwa. Gimpo Airport is close by, so some guests come before or after a flight — a lighter scent is easier on travel days.

Frequently asked questions
Q. Do I have to choose a scent in advance?
No. You can smell the options in the room and decide then. If there is a scent you want to avoid, though, it is safer to mention it when booking.
Q. Can the scent be kept to almost nothing?
Yes. We prepare base oil with minimal scent, and the treatment and its length stay exactly the same.
Q. Is aromatherapy different from oil therapy?
It is the same Fiore Relax Body Therapy, described from the scent side. For the course structure, see the oil therapy guide.
Q. Can I go straight to an appointment afterwards?
Yes, if you shower before leaving very little scent remains. Add 20 to 30 minutes to your booking for showering and getting ready.
Q. Do you take male guests?
It depends on the programme, so please ask when booking and we will let you know the available times.
